Puppet

Puppet

The artwork "Puppet" is a deeply symbolic and emotional expression. The figure of the Japanese geisha-like woman represents a rich yet sometimes restrictive tradition, while her kimono dress adorned with real flowers symbolizes the ephemeral beauty of life. The geisha makeup conceals her identity, suggesting a loss of individuality in favor of a predefined role.

The butterflies flying around her may represent freedom and fragility, while the golden strings tied to her fingers imply dependence and manipulation. The butterfly trapped amidst the strings can be seen as her own captive soul.

The woman's gaze towards the viewer with black eyes, devoid of a discernible pupil, evokes a sense of inner emptiness, as if she is trapped in a role she did not choose.

Collectively, "Puppet" reflects the duality of beauty and oppression, freedom and restraint, and the struggle for identity in a society that often imposes rigid roles. The artwork invites the viewer to contemplate the cost of conforming to social expectations and the pursuit of true autonomy."
