The "Lotus" collection is a tribute to the beauty, strength, and resilience of Japanese women.
In this collection, I showcase hyperrealistic portraits of Japanese women adorned in traditional kimonos and delicate flowers. Each painting features a prominent butterfly covering a part of the woman's face, symbolizing the hidden beauty and potential within each of us.
The lotus flower is also an important symbol in this collection, representing the journey of growth and enlightenment that each woman undergoes. Despite the challenges and inequalities that Japanese women have historically faced, they have persevered and blossomed like the lotus flower, transforming their lives and creating their own unique identities.
Through these portraits, I aim to celebrate and elevate the voices of Japanese women, while also shining a light on the obstacles they have faced and continue to face today.
